A disposal is a small job that leaks in a big way when the mounting flange or the trap alignment is rushed. We seal it properly and run it wet.
Garbage Disposals
The sink flange is where disposals leak, so it gets a clean plumber's putty or gasket seal and an evenly tightened mount. The discharge then has to line up with the trap without strain, which sometimes means re-cutting the tailpiece rather than forcing it.
We connect the dishwasher inlet, knock out the plug when there is one, wire to the switch or cord, and run it under water with load to confirm it is quiet, sealed and draining freely.
