Wine Unit Installation

Wine refrigeration is the least forgiving appliance in the kitchen. Vibration, heat and an out-of-level shelf all show up in the bottle eventually.

A warm-toned close-up of bottled wine stored in a wooden rack, perfect for a winery or wine cellar concept.

Wine Storage

Stable Temperature,
Zero Vibration

Wine units need to be dead level so the racks sit true and bottles stay in contact with their corks. They also need real ventilation, because a compressor fighting trapped heat cycles constantly, and constant cycling means vibration.

We set the unit level in both directions, keep the vent path clear, anchor it so nothing rattles, fit your custom panel and handle, and run it through a full pull-down on both zones before we call it done.

  • Levelled in both directions
  • Vent clearance kept to spec
  • Anti-tip anchoring on tall columns
  • Dual-zone setpoints verified
  • Custom panel and handle fitted
  • Racks set and glass door aligned

What Sets Us Apart

Why Bay Area Homeowners
Choose Bay Area Appliance

Both Zones Tested

Red and white zones are each run to their setpoint and confirmed stable before we hand it over.

Vented Correctly

Grille clearances kept exactly to spec so the unit is not fighting its own trapped heat.

Solidly Anchored

Tall wine columns are anchored to framing so a fully loaded door can never tip the cabinet.

Panel & Glass Fit

Custom panels, handles and glass doors aligned so the reveals match the cabinetry run.

Our Process

Our Wine Units Process

01

Site & Spec Check

We confirm opening size, venting path and outlet placement against your model's spec sheet.

02

Set & Level

The unit is set, levelled precisely in both directions, and anchored where the manual requires it.

03

Panel & Rack

Panels, handles and shelving are fitted, and the door is aligned to close cleanly and seal.

04

Pull Down & Verify

Both zones are run to setpoint and held, then we walk you through the controls and lock function.

FAQs

Wine Units Questions

Can a wine unit be installed in an island?

Yes, if the cabinet is front-vented and deep enough. We check the spec sheet for your exact model during the site visit.

How long until it reaches temperature?

Most wine units need eight to twelve hours to fully stabilise both zones. Load bottles after that, not before.

Do you install glass door panels?

Yes. Custom overlay panels, stainless trim kits and glass doors are all part of a standard wine unit install.

Are Saying

Google Reviews from real Bay Area Appliance customers

We had a full Sub-Zero and Wolf package going into a new kitchen in Palo Alto and I was dreading install week. These guys measured everything two weeks before delivery, told our cabinet maker about a half inch problem with the refrigerator opening, and it got fixed before the appliances even shipped. Install day took one afternoon and everything worked. Genuinely the smoothest part of the entire remodel.

Hood install in a Berkeley Craftsman where the duct route was genuinely awkward. They ran rigid duct instead of the flex the previous quote wanted to use, and the difference in noise and airflow is enormous. It actually pulls steam now.

Full outdoor BBQ island in Novato. Grill, side burner, outdoor fridge and access doors. They pointed out the island was missing its vent panels and cut them in before setting the grill. That is a safety thing our contractor had missed entirely.

Wine column in Santa Rosa. Levelled it in both directions, ran both zones to temperature and told us to wait twelve hours before loading bottles. That kind of advice is why I would use them again.

Replaced a 20 year old cooktop with an induction unit and needed the electrical checked first. They looked at the panel, told me exactly what circuit I needed, and came back after the electrician finished. No upselling, no drama. The cutout was perfect and they cleaned the counter before leaving.

Washer and dryer install in Walnut Creek. They pulled the shipping bolts, levelled it properly and ran a spin cycle to prove it. Our old machine used to walk across the laundry room. This one has not moved an inch in four months.

Panel-ready dishwasher in Burlingame. The reveals match the cabinets exactly, which sounds like a small thing until you have seen one installed badly. They also ran a full cycle and watched the connections before signing off.

Double wall ovens into a stacked cabinet in Fremont. They checked the cabinet could take the weight and added support before lifting anything. The doors line up perfectly and it runs true to temperature.

Third floor condo in San Francisco with a freight elevator window of two hours. They handled the building paperwork, showed up early, and had the refrigerator in and running with time to spare. If you live in a building with rules, these are the people you want.

Miele built-in coffee unit plumbed into our kitchen island in Cupertino. They left enough slack in the line that the machine slides out for descaling, which our previous installer had not done on the old one. Small detail, huge difference.

LP conversion on a Wolf range at a property in Napa off the gas main. They used the actual Wolf kit, adjusted every simmer screw, leak tested it and labelled the unit. Very thorough and clearly knew the appliance well.

Micro-hood replacement in San Mateo. They noticed the previous installer had never rotated the blower, so it had been recirculating into the kitchen for years instead of venting outside. Fixed in ten minutes. Night and day difference.
